You may recall a few
entries back I wrote about the usefulness of internet phone technology
(voip) for an American living abroad. This is about new cell phone technology.
It always fascinates me how something will catch on in one country and
not another. Why one culture will embrace a thing and another will ignore
it. I think this is something that could really take off in the US given
how cheap it is but how useful and simple. The technology seems ripe for
the states especially with proposed legislation about banning cell phone
usage by drivers. The alternatives available in cell phone stores and
car dealerships don't even compare in terms of price and simplicity.
If enough people are interested I could bring them in the country in bulk
without having to worry about paying duties or import taxes. Let me know
if you are interested. |
