3 bedroom, 3
bath secluded paradise hideaway home on the Caribbean.
Actually ON the caribbean. Built over the water 40
yards from the mangrove shore of the Island of Colon.

Accessible
only by boat, 10 minutes from the town of Bocas. Sweeping
panoramic views of nothing but nature. Signs of any
civilization are difficult to find. Neighbors include
pelicans, egrets and a myriad of underwater creatures.
I was hired to photograph the modest dwelling plus
a teakwood farm on a nearby island. The owner wants
to sell both properties and needed promotional materials.

The
hardship of being a guest at the house for a week
was something I was "forced to endure."
Just part of the job. Seriously, I actually can't
imagine a more romantic setting.
My co-pilot, Lupe, was equally impressed. Our relationship
as travelling companions had not been clearly defined
up until our arrival on Sweet Bocas. Nature and the
nature of the place took its course quickly, and we
became more than traveling companions. |

The
romantic component of this entry is still unfolding
as I write these words. Perhaps to personal? We'll
see. |

The day trip to photograph
the teakwood property included a brief jungle expedition.
Alexis, the caretaker of the house, plus a worker from the
farm, hacked a path through the jungle to get to the top
of a ridge from which I could get a view of the property.

We
crossed several streams along the way with the help
of some "instant bridges" constructed on
the spot. A minute or so was all it took to fell the
some trees and get some posts in place for hand guidance.
|
We
found a friendly armadillo along the way, as well
as, you guessed it, more frogs! |
